The Animal Kingdom

It is not easy to say what makes something an animal! It is easiest to say it is any living thing that isn't a plant, fungus, bacterium or virus. (As long as you know what they are. None, I promise, are defined as "anything that isn't one of the other things".

Simple enough? Ah... but what does "living" mean? <!--To be discussed!-->

Also well understood by example. The following are animals....

etc, etc.

Animals break up into many groups....

But PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do not use the word "invertebrates" around the owner of this space / wiki. Would you "name" a color "not red"?!!!

... and many others, e.g....

Worms <=See note below... please do NOT do page for worms...

The "animals" kingdom is one of the five primary sub-divisions of all living things.

(Authors: Please either add a link, e.g. "Vertebrates", above, or just an unlinked text entry, e.g. "Worms" above. If you want to do a page for one of the "others", by all means do it, and then edit this page, moving the group from the "many others" list to the list of gropups with their own pages. (Please don't do "worms", or else this text has to be re-done!)
