This page named "TransTwelveWayPinMode" to say the following...

It is a page with a transitory existance. In due course, it will be subsumed into other pages.

It is about temporary "arrangements" for dealing with pinmode command issues when introducing novices to Arduino with the NoviceGuard board.

===

Two things need to be remembered:

a) The twelve way connector is the most advanced part of the NoviceGuard. It is not "hard" to use, but novices should have done quite a bit with the simpler elements first.

b) This page, and the approach suggested here, is a work in progress. In due course, I intend to modify these instructions to move us on to something which will be easier for the novices, and at the same time make it harder for inadvertant mistakes to do harm to the Arduino.

Eventually, novices will never need to issue a pinMode statement. At the moment, they DO need to put pinMode statements into their programs, probably in the setup() subroutine, for any lines they use which are made available via the twelve way connector. (For what they are, see other pages... good descriptions already exist for THAT aspect of using the twelve way connector.)

There is nothing but a simple copper trace between the twelve way connector signals on the Arduino and at the connector. You con't have to worry that components on the NoviceGuard will have an effect on the behavior of these signals.
